Sandra J. Kupferschmid, 47, Shirley, Illinois, passed away Saturday, January 12. She was the daughter of Kenneth and Totoo Pinto of Rock Island.
The visitation will be Tuesday, January 15, from 3 to 8 pm, and Wednesday from 9 to10 am at the Bloomington Apostolic Christian Church on Towanda-Barnes Rd, two miles south of Towanda, IL. The funeral will be at 10 am Wednesday at the church. Interment will be at Funk's Grove Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home of El Paso, IL
Sandra was born in Mumbai (Bombay), India, in 1960. She came to the U.S. with her family in 1978. She attended Black Hawk College and Illinois State University, Normal. Sandra married Larry Kupferschmid in 1984 in Funks Grove, Illinois. She was employed until recently as manager of an OSF physicians group. She was active in the Bloomington Apostolic Christian Church and was a loving mentor to cancer patients in the Bloomington area.
Survivors include her parents, her husband Larry; sons, Samuel and Stephen, at home, and daughter, Sunita (Ben) Krugger, El Paso, IL, grandson, Ethan David Krugger; sister Debra (Chris) Hindley of Algonquin, IL; brother Nicholas (Carmen) Pinto, Houston, TX, and many nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, cousins, and loving friends. She was preceded in death by a sister, Sunita Pinto.
