Another email from Georgekutty’s daughter Susan has slightly different information. The other one was received 2-14-01 and this one received 3-9-01. It says:
Peedikaplammootil Ghee Varghese was known as ASHAN (Teacher) and stayed in Kottakkattuparampil House, Kozencheri and married Mariamma from Ayroor (Kurudamannil House) They had four sons and 3 daughters. Mr. P G Thomas was the eldest son. He studied in Trivandrum and was working with Malayala Rajyam paper as editor. At that time, the King of Trancore was Sree Moolam Thirumal. The Administrator (Dewan) was Shree C P Ramaswamy Iyer. As Mr. P G Thomas wrote some adverse comments against the Raja and Dewan, he was banished from Travancore along with his wife and not allowed to come back until the death of the Raja. They went to Madurai. They had three sons and one daughter, who died at the age of 11. He became an Administrator (Dewan) at Madurai (Madras Province). He then went to Karachi and lived there. Dr. Anna Thomas established her own hospital in 45 Bunder Road, Karachi, and Mr. P G Thomas had his own business.
In the year 1938 after the death of Sree Moolam Thirumal, he came back and started working with the paper as editor. He was suffering from diabetes and blood pressure and his leg had to be amputated. He died in Quilon hospital and was buried in Quilon cemetery.
The uncertain information is about whether P stands for Peedikaplammootil or Perumadon; and whether P G Thomas’ mother was Mariamma or Rachel.
